Roll Over DrillCoach Jim Vance - This video demonstrates the rollover drill. Rollover Drill - 3 Strokes Free, 2 strokes Back, alternating back and forth. This drills helps with your holding of water at the front end and anchor point of your stroke. Try to feel for the pressure on the palm and forearm to anchor yourself for the rollover. If you do this right, you will launch yourself, and find a lot of speed, but it starts with the PRESSURE on the hand at the anchor point for rolling over.

Memorial Ride for Christopher Le CanneThousands gathered up and took over the Rickenbacker in Key Biscayne this morning.
As early as 8am, cyclists met up across Mast Academy to begin the memorial ride for Christopher Le Canne killed last Sunday by a drunk driver.
The support from the cyclist community was very emotional.
Thanks to all for coming together. We all hope the police and residents of Miami see how many of us are part of the community and how we all count!
We want to work together on a petition for safer streets.
Thanks for all the police cooperation today.
Our hearts go out to the family and friends of Christopher Le Canne....VIEW VIDEO

Busway SprintsSome of you may have heard of Alleycat (bike messenger) races, or more locally Miami's Loose Cannons race that takes place each month in downtown. Yet our Busway Sprints are a whole different breed of underground bike racing, where once a month a random group of Fixed Gear bikers gather at the US1 Busway to test there legs against each other. Reaching speeds upwards of 35+ mph, the Sprints consist of a bracket-style race where 2 riders at a time race until the last two are left, ending it all with one victor.
Just one of the many cool things happening in our city.

December - Janette Trasobares
Honestly, when I was advised that I would be the December 2011 Athlete of the Month for MiamiPace, I was so surprised!
In looking at the caliber of past athletes who've held this post, I see it as an honor to be recognized by my peers I've not ridden my bike across the country for no particular reason, I've not overcome a potential fatal disease, I've not had the hardships or injuries that many have had to overcome. As I explain to my Fitness 101 participants (I'll get to that in a moment)... "If a little 'fat girl' from Hialeah can complete a Half-Ironman... you can complete a 5K!"
